Hood cover/ Blanket- Needs Cleaning !!
1 Attachment(s)
I really did not notice how bad it was until today. I guess I have been wanting not to look at it LOL!....Where do I start with this?
https://www.gmforum.com/attachment.p...ine=1412234679 Yuk! Good news is that it is a quality piece very solid / well built. Still cardboard construction but should stand up to a quick powerwash I think.. I guess use some plastic for starters to cover up engine bay below and power wash with upholstery shampoo soap it etc...?? Or should I take it to a detailer with an extraction machine? Ideas Welcome... :D |
Looks a lot better than mine does, eventually I am going to have to replace mine.
I am not sure what the best way to clean that would be, at least overall it looks to be in good shape considering how old it is. |
I stopped by a detail shop. He said there is no easy way to get it real clean.
They would have to use a degreasing type of soap and rub it in good then use the extractor. Our shop would want 1.5 hours to detail it a $125. He then continued to say since the metal hood & surrounding area is also dirty you might as well just do it at home with soap on a brush etc...or at power wash bay and blast the F out of it. LOL... :D Ya.. now I am not sure if I should do it now or just ignore for a while longer.. and clean it in the spring, after a wet nasty winter may be best.. :nm |
Or, just leave it alone. The second you try to pull that down or even put a garden hose to it, its probably going to fall apart.
|
I think with most soft material type of padding/blankets I would agree it may fall apart.
This Mike however is a hard, molded, heavy duty sucker. I think if you were to see it and hit it with your big hands, you would also say... where is the power washer ??....LOL... |
I have some luck restoring its orig color with the use of Megs APC and degreaser dillution I used was 4-1.
