hid lights

i recently put some 6000 k standard wattage bulbs on my car in place of s. stars and even though they look super cool... really blue.. i would still love to see some high intensity discharge lights.. i would probably be willing to do the actual conversion kit since they are like ten times brighter than my current lights you guys know anyone with bonneville with these hid lights? is it worth it?

smellbird had them in his SLE at one time....it looks awesome

PLEASE do NOT do this. Not only is it illegal the beam pattern you will get sucks and you will blind other drivers and not be able to see any better.

Our headlight housings are not designed for HID lighting. IF you really want the bennifits of HID you need to retrofit projectors into your HL.

But in defence....if u can find some that throw light w/a cutoff ur all set......my PIAA projector fogs are designed w/a cutoff and will work pefectly!!!

It sounds like he is talking about drop in kits, not projectors or projector fogs.

Yes, if you go with a decent set of projectors (fogs or regular HID projectors) and HID's they will have the proper cut off and an awsome beam.

I got the McCulloch kit comes with everything you need for plug n play
2 x 8000K Xenon Bulbs
2 x Ballasts
2 x Ignitors
all for the low price of only around $300.00 with shiping
I wouldn't have done it but I bought 2 LED Switchbacks for the turn lights and it just didn't
look right as they have a blueish tint to them so one mod led to another

Thats a chunk of change......But they sure look great!!!! Thats the look I'm after for my car!! How bright are they at night? As good as silverstars? And do you get the brights a lot?

Midnight Express 07-04-2006 04:11 AM

I would say they are as brite as stock hi beams, Ive only had silverstars in my fog lights so I can't say how they compair for the head lights.

The beam pattern seem fine for my houseing, yours will be different .
my lights are pointing down some and I have never had anyone brite me so far ;)

Heres a site that has them with some more info too,
