depends on the out put pattern you want.

for driving lights, the hellas or cyberwhites

for fog, projectors or something else deep yellow

If you want to go high-end....go PIAA. They have the best quality and functionality. Plus they're bulbs are the best.

I just did the cyberwhites and the 100w H3 cyberwhite bulbs and damn those suckers are bright .

They make my SS low beams look like OEM bulbs

I have used Cibie fog and driving lights and found them to be very bright.

I had a pair of driving lights mounted below the bumper on my '95, and I had the relay stick so that the lights wouldn't turn off one time. A car coming toward me in the opposite direction pulled off to the side of the road because he was being blinded. Luckily, I was only about a mile from home, and took care of the problem.

I have heard some people say that the Cibie'* (pronounced C-B-A) are the best auxiliary lights out there. They are expensive though. They have a metal housing, so they can rust out.

Best, and brightest? PIAA or true Hella (not the angel eyes). Complete systems with quality harnesses and housings that cost over $100.

In terms of shear output, Angel eyes best the cyberwhites, but the cyberwhites have better light direction through their rear reflector.

Projectors can be DAMN bright, and aimed perfect however.

Sorry for digging up my own old thread, but this is directly related and I think I've made enough fog light topics for one lifetime.

They say 885 compatible and that they only pull 37.5w each but effectively put out the equivalent of 110w. Now thats all fine and dandy, but it sound like bullshit. Does anyone know if these are any good or if they burn out every 5 minutes?

I am trying to keep a stock housing but add a little bit out output without frying my wiring harness. I have to replace the fog housings anyways though, The one on the right is completely destroyed inside, it puts out no usable light, maybe 3 feet in comparison to about 20 or so feet with the left.

They look pretty nice. The reflective pattern looks aftermarket. I like it better. Otherwise should I just get those and stick with stock 55w 885s?

Basically...what bulbs are compatible with stock housing? Maybe with slight modification..but mostly compatible.

Also...which puts out a better beam in the stock housing...885s with a dipped end or 885s with open end? My left has a dipped end and the only 885 i could find at the parts store had an open end.
