Where to buy Paint?
I had some rust spots on the front of the Bonnie so I sanded them down, feathered the edges, made everything smooth. I primered the spots and was ready to paint them. My dad told me finding paint to match would be no problem, he was wrong. I checked with every auto parts store in town, and the local GM dealer, and turns out nobody really carries spray paint of the exact color. I found some of those touch up/scratch tubes, but that won't do it. I don't want a gallon either. I just need a spray paint that looks similar to my color (as close as possible). I checked all the hardware stores today and Krylon makes a "Hunter Green" that is too light, wouldn't look good. Found one brand that was metallic, and that looked better, but still, too light. Anyone know where I can get the REAL color paint that I need? Or suggestions so I can get rid of the ugly brown primer on my hood? Paint is GM 48U, "Dark Yellow Green Metallic" for my 97 SE. Thanks for anything you guys can do! It doesnt have to be perfect, but I don't want it to look like total garbage either. It was my fault for not checking for a matching paint BEFORE sanding/priming.

You should be able to order 5oz areosol cans from a GM dealer. Make sure you bring in your paint code(*) as they appear on the RPO sticker.
I also ran across a place during a Google search that mixes paint according to your paint code and sells it in a 12oz areosol can. IIRC it was relatively expensive at $30-$40 a can. Just order more than one from the dealer.

I asked the same question a while back and I have the same paint code. The above quote is from www.gmpartsdirect.com which might be a good alternative to ******* dealers.
