Rinseless Wash
I just thought I would share a little review on Optimum'* No Rinse wash. It'* a car wash that you add an ounce to a gallon of water. You just wash like you normally would, but instead of rinsing off the soap, you just wipe it off. It'* a good alternative for those of us that live in frigid temps in the north, as well as it saves water. I pre-sprayed the car with a bottle of the solution before washing. It felt weird to wash and not rinse, but it seemed to work well. The only thing to pay attention to is any stray water that may leak out. I moved the car to wash our truck, and after I moved it back into the garage I saw some nice white water spots under the mirrors.
The stuff isn't cheap, it was $40 for a gallon, but I think it'* a worthwhile purchase, especially if you like to keep your car somewhat clean in the snowy months, or if you live in an apartment complex where you don't have access to a spigot. It can be purchased at www.danase.com or most any other online detailing supply store.

Normally in the winter I just spray it down with water at the DIY places. This is a cool product. I wonder what kind of effects it has on wax or sealants?

The reason I got this stuff is because I don't want to go to a car wash. I'm sure not going to a swirlomatic, and I don't think the touchless ones clean that well either. But my main concern is ice. If it'* below freezing, I don't want to go to a coin op and end up with a layer of ice on the car. This way, I wash, wipe down and have a clean, dry car.

It will clean just as well as a regular car soap, but like with a regular soap I would advise spraying the car down at a coin op first so you aren't grinding the dirt into the paint. It does say on the bottle that a really dirty car may require a second wash. I'll have to post a picture, but my car was almost white it had so much salt on it, and it cleaned up fine.
