I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place or not. If not, let me apologize in advance.

My driver'* door window sill started to peel, and of course there had to be corrosion underneath.

I picked up some rust-inhibiting primer and satin black out-door metal paint. But how exactly do the sills come off? I want to remove all of the sills and then strip and redo them. From what it looks like, the rears just may pop off, and maybe the same for the front (after removing the side-views). Is this correct? What is holding them on? Are there clips i should plan on replacing?

the rear ones just pull up from the rear of them. the front ones you have to take the mirrors off. i did mine last year. i took a razor blade and cut the OE vynil off them sanded them with 400 grit and a palm sander primed them roughed them up with the red 3M pad found at autozone or any parts place in the body repair section. then hit them with gloss black rustoleum. and they still look mint

Looks like you and I have the same problem, but posted in a different area. Luckily for me Steve was nice enough to respond to me as well. My thread is here.
It has some descriptions of the part numbers and might be a good link if someone posts to one or the other.

I replaced my rear sealing strips (that is the GM name for the window sill pieces) when I replaced my regulators in the back. It made taking the sealing strips out easily because the window was removed. If you do remove the window, it would be a good time to fix/prevent failure of the regulators by following the links on this page.

When I removed the strips it was pretty much a brute force thing. Try to find a weak spot where it will pull up, then work that to get it all free. You do have to be careful not to bend the piece as it will bend if you put too much force on it.

Well, I FINALLY got around to getting the sills done! It actually turned out better then I had imagined it would.

Yup, they CAN be bent! lol I realized after reinstalling them that the back edges (where I started prying) did not want to go down all of the way. However, knowing that this happens, it is fairly simple to remove it again and simply squeeze the back edge back down before reinstalling it.
