Default 2 headlight designs??

while looking around online at ebay auctions, i came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

This quotes that this is the "second design built after 9/20/04" does anyone know the difference here????

im not home, so i can not reference the magic book to check the part numbers... maybe GMPD will show 2 part numbers??? or was it simply a design change? Maybe these fixed the hazing/sandblasting problems?

I would suspect some type of bracket or attachment point change versus a sandblasting fix.

the only thing that i could imagine it being would be a modification to allow clearance for the GXP fascia, but a change would hav had to happen long before 9/20/04 if that was the case

unless 04 GXPs got their own headlight, and were transitioned over to all trims for 05

I don't see any difference either. The only way to really prevent sandblasting on the headlamps is if they were changed to glass instead of the plastic that the Bonneville uses. The newer ones aren't plastic though so it can't be that. My best guess would be slightly different mounting points possibly? Everythign else looks the same, although they look like they're slightly tinted, but that could be the picture. They do look a bit darker though possibly?

I'm almost positive that the headlight assemblies from 00-05 are all the same in terms of how they mount to the buckets. I've seen aftermarkets though that have a different type of adjuster for aiming the horizontal axis than what the oem'* have.
