Clear Coat or Not to Clear

OK.. I think I messed up twice now.. first time wasn't my fault..

Anywho.. I was wondering.. the paint can says no Clear Coat required.. but should I clear coat anyways? How does Clearcoat affect the colour? IT seems to make white a lil darker.. but I don't know if it's just me or not ( since I sprayed a piece of board with no clear coat.. and it seems brighter )

Colour is bright white ( not ghost white as the counter clerk told me :x )

You should clear coat...the reason that car manufactures use base/clear paint it not only do metalics colors look/spray better with clear, The clear coat gives MUCH higher UV protection over single stage paint (shiny without clear). Single stage (laqure or emamle)doesnt have alot of UV resistance due to the fact that the pigments are at the surface (its the pigments that will fade and "break down"over time)

clear coat shouldnt haze over with humidity that is a problem usualy atributed to single stage laquer paint... im not saying that it cant but, it souldnt
