cleaning of cloth seats
hey i was wondering how do you get ice cream off a cloth seat?? i work at dairy queen (17)and once in a while i will bring something home to eat, this time it was a buster bar (yummmmm)
well i forgot about it and left it on the seat over night (yucky) luckily it didnt stain the seat but now its all crusty, any ideas? i tried just using a hot cloth, made it better, but still crusty and not sure what to use so that i dont turn it colors |
What color are your seats (just curious)? I'd try warm soapy water first, then just find a good fabric cleaner at a parts store. Since it's been on there for a while nevermind the water, just get the fabric cleaner. They make it for carpets and/or fabric seats. Some come with a bristle brush that will probably help in removing the crusty stuff. That should work. As to specific brands I'm not sure. I've used a couple before and they worked great.

And you can always try a cleaner out on a side panel or somewhere less noticeable, just in case you are concerned about discoloring.

Go to an advanced auto or something, in the car detailing area they make car shampoo kits, some of the good oens have a scrubber on the cap to help work the solution into your seat, after applying it I believe you let it work its way in then shop-vac it out.

I use the "Blue Coral" fabric cleaner, comes in a blue spray can and has the stiff brush attached to the can, used it myself on a spill exactly like that would never know it happened ;) .
