Its in progress now and I hope to finish it on Sunday but by dad was saying I need to wait until it gets warmer due to condensation getting in the paint from the compressor. But the compressor is in the basement of my house so that shouldnt be a problem.

over all this will be a decent job once I get done. I paid 2k for this 96 with 114k on the ticker with these minor problems. I will update soon.

Im trying to get it done this weekend. I have some nice 20" rims that will go real nice with it. Do you guys think red painted calipers would go nicely with this color green?

question. what cause a paint gun to spit out globs of paint? The last car I painted spit out paint when I brought the compressor from inside the house to outside in the garage. Did the change in temp cause the compressor to get water in it? Im using dupont chroma base paint with select clear and 4 to 1 hardner. think I said that right..

you need ALOT more primer then that... esspecialy on the bumper...
and is that aerosol primer? (rattlecan) if so its not a high build so you will need to really build it up to properly sand it smooth


Manythings can cause a paint gun to spit... a clog not allowing properflow dry paint on the tip, insufficiant air flow. most comercialy availiably air compressors CANT keep up to the demands of a quality paint gun... so that alone can be a factor.

Yeah thats what it looks like (rattle can) looking good sofar but like peter said you need more primer and try not to cut it off like you did on the hood.. that will show in the paint prime the whole panel.... you will have a better end result.

not totaly true if the primers allowed to naturaly taper and it sanded properly it will be fine.. it its got a hard edge (tape or paper edge) then all the sanding in the world wont help it.

I didnt mask off on the hood. I just painted the spots where I sanded down the rust and sanded away from those areas. I will prime the front bumper some more especially in the areas that were sanded down to the white parts.

finished up a little bit today.







ran out of piant for the drivers side door so I will have to finish on Monday. got some valleys in the hood though..
