Car Detailing

Just wondering what everyone uses for their car detailing needs. I just got a free set of the Turtlewax Ice Product and must say for being free I'm very happy with it. They for some reason dont make an actual clay bar but they do have the liquid clay bar. After reading up on it I think its a pretty solid product.

What do you guys use on your rides?

I use a combination of Zaino, Mothers and McGuiars products...

For cutters I use McGuiars, Mothers for polishing wheels... Zaino for top coat waxing...

I use Stoner for glass cleaning...

I have a whole cabinet of polishing stuff...

i got some buddies with a car wash , so i get my car done up with pro stuff that the guys use on all the cars , that stuff works sweet...

Zaino is GREAT if you are looking for a sealant... one of the best out there

If you are looking for a wax - Meguiars #7 followed by Danse Wet Glaze, followed by Pinnacle Souveran - and you will have a show car shine... Your car will look like it is dripping wet - some people have even described it as melting ice... :)

I start with Meguiars #80 for a polish, then wax with Meguiars Gold class, then finish it off with Meguiars #7

Hey Sheboygan, Milwaukee here... :)

Your car is a darker color, you should try #7 first, the replace Gold Glass with #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax - the #26 makes darker cars look darker and wetter looking.

The Gold Class is great for light colored cars, the #26 is better for dark colored cars.

:)

Danthurs 07-27-2008 01:50 PM

I'll give that a try. Was going to switch from gold class to techwax but will try the #26 when I can.

You need any help with your car pologuy, give me a yell. I can scan and have a nice shop.

I will DEFINITELY take you up on your offer!

And, I have tried both NXT and #26, and #7 followed by #26 is much better... let me know if you think so also.

Thanks!

:)

liquid clay bar < 'real' clay bar
wax is nice and all but what really matters is how you polish, the items use use(orbital vs hand) etc. i'd go into more detail but...

I use Meguiar's NXT GENERATION TECH WAX® 2.0 & HiTech Yellow Wax Liquid #26.
Makes my black SSEi look sharp.
