changing the bulb type in the stock fog lights...
I'm thinking about pulling the stock fog light bulbs out, cutting off the socket and putting in an h3 bulb and socket. I thought about just changing the whole light out but i can't seem to find an aftermarket fog light the same size, only smaller. I like the large look of the stock fog lights though. i would rather stay stock then go with a smaller fog light.
Just wondering if anyone has done this or something similar? Or just even thought about doing it or ideas? I want to put in siliverstars but the ones for the stocks bulbs burn out very quickly so that'* why i want to go with the h3.
Any ideas would be great...thanks.

We've found that the large Cyber White fog lamps are big enough, relatively, so check those out if you haven't yet. There are many labeled Cyber White, and the big retailers seem to carry the right ones. On my 94, I have Platinum Burners, which are smaller lamps that I got for $20 at Wal Mart. They look nice when a bit smaller, and I like to imagine that they're less restrictive to air. That'* ricing, though.
Should you happen to find lights that you want, beware that you'll have to do something with the stock because the mounting holes are in wide pieces of metal that may interfere with the lamps' mounting holes. Here'* my post:

Also, I have Silverstars in my 99 SLE, and they seem to last a long, long time - relatively. They're no lesser than stock lights, so what makes yours burn out?

I have just read on other posts the the siliverstars for the stock foglights burn out fairly quickly. I have not tried the siliverstars myself but i'm thinking about trying it. That is since it looks like it'* going to be a challenge to change the housing and bulb considering it might not even work.

I just changed my stock fog light, first one in 10 years, 63000 miles, and I always have them on. Funny thing is the newer bulbs are a tad longer then the stock and it changed the beam pattern. Thought I would share.

It turns out that I'll have to wait for the fog lights in my SLE to burn out, and I'll let you know. It'* also possible for someone else in the club to mount aftermarket fog lights to your fog light holders. There are 3 10mm bolts that hold the 2 C-shaped pieces of metal, and that'* pretty much all you'd have to mail over. One important thing is that you have to be careful about if the lamps will fit, so whoever agrees to do this for you should have done it before. I'm a terrible candidate since I installed smaller lamps in mine.
When you flip off/on the fogs at night time, do you see a definite difference on the road ahead? I absolutely do with both cars.

radomirthegreat can you post pics of your fogs on? I saw in your other thread you made you put Burnes fog lights in your car and was wondering if you could post a pic of them on.
