BIGGEST TIRE WITH PICS

HI GUYS I was wondering what is the biggest tires i can run on my 98 le with the fac.16" 5 star wheels so my rear tires look fatter and can you guys post pics if you got em on your rides or do i need to go to bigger rims?[/img]

you should be able to run 255x55x16 at 1mph loss at 60mph. your speedo will read 60 when you are doing 61mph

Do a search for SSEi95. He's running 255's.

You'll rub in your wheelwells at full steering lock unless you modify the wheelwells slightly.

They won't look that much wider. Just a word of warning. Have all the patience you want, but you won't find any other pics.

If you're just doing the rear you won't have to worry about rubbing or speedo changes.

On the contreary. My rears rubbed more than my fronts ~ sorta. At full lock the fronts barely knicked the plastic frame gaurds, and only wore tint patches in them after thousands of miles driving. Now the rears required tha mechanic to flatten a welded tab where the trunk floor and inner fender met, to keep it from puncturing the tire when the shocks were compressed. It looked great and fit great on the lift, but when he set it down and bounced the back end is when he saw just how close it could be to punturing the tires if I ever hit a large bump... Ok I'm rambling. Here are the only pics of it that I know where they are....

I had enough rubbing in the front to rub a hole in the fender liner with 245's. No sign of any rubbing in the rear.

My 225's rub my inner fenders, as do other members here.

Interesting.... I had to go to and hold full lock (pump screaming at me) to get it to rub much at all. Maybe some other aspects of the type of tire were in play too?

Could be. I was/am running 00+ 17" wheels, could make a difference too.
