Gauge background in car
I am not sure what the technical name for this item is. But the background that the speedometer and rpm and other gauges are on in my car is black. I do not know where I saw it, but I know I saw it in this forum. Someone was changing there'* from black to the silver background, I think it is a GXP gauge background.
They were discussing the change. If you know the thread , could you please link me?
I tried many searches but couldn't find it. Its a thread I came across a week or so ago.
Also what is the technical name for this?
Thank you for your input.

yeah I was the one that did the swap, But its not the easiest thing to find a GXP cluster. If you do find one, its simple to swap out.

Gauge Face
Thanks guys for the info.
What is a DIC? Not sure what you mean by I have to have DIC and compass for the switch?
I have a '04 SE. Not sure if that tells you anything, but would the switch be possible?
Is there a thread or how-to on this? I am glad you say its simple, thats up my alley!
Sorry for the n00b questions, when it comes to cars, I am learning, but am enthusiastic.
But I love the look.
leftd90, I have a silver bonnie like you, i think it looks sweet what you have done.
BTW, on your cardomain page, you left out an option on your tint poll. Do it 20% all the way around. Gives a great look, and you can still see out, no problems. And to date, I have not had any 5/0 problems. (knock on wood)

I belive that what they are sayng is that you need to use the ones in your car and install them in the GXP cluster that you get. So that the info on your dash is correct.
