Any idea how I find out who is reputable for painting?

I would hope the local Pontiac dealer is good enough for a repaint, but not sure. Anyone have advice on how to find out who the good places are? I don't really know anyone that has had any painting done. Maybe one of the local paint suppliers?

Word of mouth. Ask your friends and family. That'* the best references you could get.

All the big Paint companys do, Im BASF certified

most dealers have good painters but every now and then they will have a bad apple. alot of smalls shops have good painters but dont have good conditons to produce a good paint chop (lower budget)

you can go to any dealer to get you car painted (ford, chrysler, ect...) but painters in GM shops know the colors better because they do them more then others (doesnt apply in your case(black car) , but still true)

best bet if you want to find that "perfect painter" is to ask around. Friends/family, if you can get a hold of a jobber (he might know)or paint rep (he WILL know) then you will be set to find the best.

On a unrelated side note, i just painted 10 cars in 3 days, and not one of them was bad!
