Airbag Warning Stickers

I foolishly tried to remove one of these from my sun visor. Now I am left with some type of knitted backing from the sticker. It looks like it would come off in one piece, but then again, so did the sticker.

I want to avoid scarring the fabric on the visor. Does anyone have any tips?

I did this exact same thing for the rotting visors on my wife's previous `88 Grand Prix when I redid the headliner. But after I cut the pieces of material and sewed them together, I had a shoe repair shop stitch all around them, because they have sewing machines made for stitching soles onto shoes, and they were perfect for stitching around the visor. They looked really nice. I sold the car to a friend who still has it, so if he ever stops by, I'll take pictures.

I absolutely HATE the airbag warning stickers and would very much like to recover my visors, but with nothing else wrong with them, I am very reluctant to tear them all apart, so for now I just live with it. I hate idiot warnings in general, and I was horrified when they apparently became mandatory on US cars.

Well, what is really foolish about what i did, is tha tis a brand new GXP. So now I am suck with this blemish on an otherwise mint condition interior. I had 3 Grand Ams prior to this, all with stickers, that i managed to carefully peel off, leaving no trace behind. Obviously the factory caught on to what the people who were spending thousands of dollars buying their cars were doing, and elected to make them impossible to get off without damagin the visor.

I will likely have to bite the bullet and pick up new visors from the dealership.
