Default VHT Night Shades, Easy to **** up?

How does this stuff spray out? Is it as simple as spray paint? Is it easy to mess up the tail light project?

It is tricky, if you put too much on it will turn white... light light coats.

Click on my sig pic and then on the taillight blackout link.

Clean the lights VERY well first. Mask off what you don't want (like the reverse lights). Apply LIGHT coats while the lights are pointing upward to prevent drips. One coat per light in order to keep uniformity.

Finish when dry with a gloss clearcoat to protect it, or a satin (my preference). I've done my 93 and Jseabert'* 93 with great results. Doing the 95 as soon as my new can gets here.

One thing to consider is shaving of the numbers and DOT registration and all. JLaudioeclipse did this and it was nice.

I have clear on mine, but it'* not super thick, and it'* not buffed smooth, it'* maybe a semi-satin finish. Holds up much better IMO. I might get out the ROB and buff them smooth this week thuogh.

Good ideas. A high gloss will show imperfections better which is why I went for the semi/satin look. I can still was them, too. Liquid Glass may work better for sealing them than traditional soft waxes.

I did buff mine for maybe 5-10 min each, it got slightly glossier...

Once you go at it for a while with some polish they do clean up and look stunning. My brake lights are a lil harder to get out with this in the way.

Damn that sun from the side sure lights them up red.

Here'* Ryans car, he said he had buffed them for a long time. to get this look, and it'* AMAZING in real life.

Here'* mine in the daytime with the parking lights on. It shows the amount of visible light is barely affected, especially when you compare it to the contrast of the non-tinted reverse lights and tinted turn signals.

if the light output is barely affected, is it possible to put this on your headlights too?
