tablet questions
So I have been thinking about getting one of those fairly cheap 10" android tablets, was wondering what any one who may have had a tablet liked or disliked about it. right now we have a few computers but with the others in the house being more and more used i mostly use my work laptop sitting in my recliner. It would be much more convenient and less hassle with the big brother junk to have my own whatever and leave the work one at work. so all i really do is check out the forum, maybe news and weather and such. once in a while watch a movie. my phone does all this but the screen is too small to really be used alot. some of those android tablets have keyboards which is alot better than the phone too. 100 to 130 on alot of them seems alot more reasonable than getting another laptop. any comments would be appreciated, i dont even know anybody that has one for me to mess with.

The Amazon Kindle'* are pretty nice. I have the HD 8.9". If you can, buy it from BestBuy and get the extended warranty. Amazon'* warranty is good too, but you can at least walk into Bestbuy and say, gimme another one.

Great question that I have also asked myself. I know people love the ipad- I don't own any Apple products, but if the tablet is a daily driver, maybe getting the best to use is a something to look into.
Instead of a tablet I use a toshiba notebook with a small screen- I don't want to give up a built in keyboard, the small screen keeps the entire notebook "small".

I see those new Windows tablets that have the OS just like today'* Windows 8.1. Of course, your not going to play Battlefield 3 on it.
On another note, the Amazon tablets uses the Amazon software. Which is a spinoff of the Android system which means no Google Play store. But, with the right software, you can hack the current OS and put Google back on to it and download directly from the Google Play store. I've done it to mine.
Or you can just shell out the extra money and get one of the better tablets that has the full Android OS in it. If you have the money, get a tablet with 4G LTE.

dont ever play games on the computer. i think the only thing that even needs to be a little fast is youtube or a movie on watch32. the forums and that are pretty small to load anyway. i dont think i would buy an expensive one, i normally only buy toshiba and hp/compac, walmart has a hp windows laptop for 200. just seems like overkill. and i never liked windows seems fat and slow. i like bestbuy they let you play with stuff, i may go up next week sometime and try it out. we have to go near there for my daughter anyway.

thinking about a chromebook, the asus goes from standby in 8seconds, and is very fast without all the windows fluff. according to the reviews anyway. can get this one for 125 on sale right now.

Justin if you type in Chrome book review there are quite a few sites with Dec 2014 reviews with specs. Here is one of them: The Best Chromebooks | PCMag.com
I think I would spend a bit more & get one with more than 16GB storage though and & even 4 gig ram.

i really dont think you need any more. was looking at the you tube videos of it surfing and booting, its way faster than my work computer, and my wifes. the wifes is a fairly new windows 7 toshiba, my work laptop, i got a second drive for with nothing on it but XP sp3, firefox, and kasperski. its a pretty new dell dual core, 4gig ram. the asus is a million times faster from standby to usable. and clicking through pages seems noticeably faster as well. I am not going to need more memory i dont think, i am not going to be doing any photo editing or storage with it. 16 should be plenty for the os/ and necessary stuff
