Default Gas Gage & dash lights not working

Hi Guys,, I just got my 69 Bonneville back on the road, and don't have any dash lights, and the gas gage don't work, turn signals, headlights, Etc all work fine,
none of the dash was disturbed , but when the painter took the rear bumper off, he forgot about disconecting the wire for the lisence plate light, and probably having his hands full with the bumper,, jsut broke the wire , No big deal I put that back together and that works fine,, but since the gage wire and lite wires come out the same opening ,, maybe that got broken somewhere also,, but not easly visable,,
Gonna replace all the fuses today, and check the grounds
just though someone out ther has had the same problem,
also The car set for maybe 5-6 years with little or no gas in it,, could the ethenol crap cause the reostat on the gage to stick ? the gage stays about 1/4 tank all the time,,

for the gauge i would try to see if there is a handy place to disconnect the connector if the sender works the same back then open should be full and shorted to ground is empty, at least you can see if the needle moves at all as far as the lights i would try disconnecting the pod connector and try reseating it first. are there any other lights that come on like on switches or radio? do those work?

There is a connector for the gauge and also the ground connected to the trunk latching structure, , I'll try that,, as for the dash lights, I am thinking it might be the light switch itself,, everything else seems to be OK,,
thinking back now,, I remember having to jiggle the swich at times to get them to work,, Glad all the bugs are crawling out now,

It was the light switch , must have coroded some after all its just 44 years old, new one was 12$
the gas gage moved up to full when I unpluged it and back down to barely off empty when grounded,, it reads about 1/4 tank,, I just put in 11 gals, so maybe its close.. also put some stabuilt in the tank,, to maybe clean up any sludge from the methenal , I'll drive it some and see what happens,
Thanks for the replys,,

anyone know how many gallons a 69 bonneville will hold,,, (GAS THAT IS)trying to figure out , if the gage is working or not,, put 11 gallons in it and it shows close to 1/4 tank,, at that rate it should hold 44 gallons,,
