As it says, I just bought a '66 convertible and love it. I am starting my search in finding repair manuals, parts distributors, vendors, etc.
Can you all please post some links to these guys and rate them or tell me whether you like or dislike them and give a newbie a hand?
My baby runs and runs decent but I will probably be doing a full resto on it in the next 9 months or so.

Congrats on the new car. I'm going to look at a 66 convertible tomorrow.
Any advice on what to look for outside of the obvious stuff? The car'* in rough shape but it'* driveable. I know the trunk is rotted and the interior is kinda beat up but it'* complete and supposedly the numbers are all original.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bart

No, I wish I could. I havent gotten any help at all from this board. And I havent looked into anything on my own yet. I still have another project to finish.
I wanted to get a head start on collecting info on this next project but I dont have anything yet, I hope you have more luck finding info and getting help. Let me know if you have any luck or problems with suppliers or resto companies as I will soon be looking into the same. I will keep you informed if I learn anything.

the best source of information is Performance Years - Your #1 Source for GTO, Firebird, and Classic Pontiac Parts and Accessories their 62-66 tech forum is awsome. I found this site looking for parts for my electro cruies. Ames has a full size catalog with some nice parts. The trunk floors are being repoped in sweden. Another source for parts would be
IndianaPontiacs.com Steve is a one man show and may take a day or so to get back to you.

thanks a lot! I bought a 66 Bonnie convertible over the winter that looks ok from about thirty feet but you couldn't put a gallon of milk in the trunk with it being rotted the way it is.
I emailed the guy in Sweden so we'll see what he comes back with. If I get any photos I'll try to post them here.
Regards,
Bart

fyi on the Bonnevilles vs the other b bodies from Pontiac in 66. Bonneville and Starchief frames are the same. GP frames are boxed as are all convertibles.. Yes you can put a boxed frame under a non boxed catalina. Front end sheet metal is all the same. Bonneville trunks are longer than the GP and Cat. Rear bumbers are the same. Rear glass on the GP is sloped and not interchangeable.
any other questions let me know and I will try and answer best I can.

i've been told the four door bonneville trunk pan is interchangeable with the convertible. is the interior sheetmetal for the trunk the same as any other models?
thanks,
bart
