Default installing trim around rear window

I have a 69 Bonneville that I am trying to get back together after a paint job.
The painter took the alum trim off the rear window, removed the vinyl top , and window,,and now I am having problems replacing the trim,
I can't get the trim to snap into the clips,
using new clips etc,, thinking maybe I will just glue it on with sealer,,

Walk away, have a beer, take a nap, take a deep breath and try again. We have all encountered frustrating parts that won't do what we want them to.

Yep always a good idea to have a beer handy, maybe even a couple, I'll get the trim figured out ,,, the problem started when we repaired /replaced the lower channel of the window opening,, it had been reapired before ,, but with fiberglass and wasn't a very good fix,, so I replaced it with some steel channel, and in the process some of the tiny studs that hold the trim clips on removed and never thought about it till time to replace the trim,,
there are the screw in type replacement studs but really a bear to get in after the glass is installed,
but I'll step back , take a deep breath and drink that beer ( or 3) and get it done,, getting anxious now getting some nice weather, its been in pieces for probably 5-6 years, so time to quit procrasting and get-er-done

Oh I ask my bro in law a body guy .. he said
The rear window is the upper and side pieces first, starting from the middle, then down the sides. Bottom pieces go on last and install the middle clip, pushes on into place. Make length adjustments as you go to keep everything aligned. Using the palm of your hand for a hammer prevents damaging the moldings. Use the clip tool, Locate them Auto Parts Store HELP aisle ! Or.. ask them if they do.. Not sure if this will help I type crappy I hope Translated this correctly

These pieces are anadized aluminum, only alum trim on the car, I stripped the anadizing off with draino,( sodium Hydroxide) and polished them, looks much better,, than the dull alum,
