Default Malibu 3.1 tune-up help

Hey, everyone, I'm just wondering if there'* any special procedure to do a tune-up on an '03 Malibu 3.1L? I need to do it soon, because I noticed my mpg'* are starting to decline. I can get the parts to do it, but, if there'* any complicated procedure to doing it, I'll have a friend of mine do it. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Plugs, wires, and fresh fluids are a good start. All can be done with basic tools.

I plan on doing plugs, wires, fuel filter, and, maybe a PCV valve, but, what I meant was, is there a special procedure to do the back plugs, without removing motor mounts, or, anything like that?

are they like the grand am ones? or you have the w-body dog bones? if the dog bones you can take a bar and lean the engine forward put the engine bolt through the other hole and have plenty of room to work. if its like the ga and cierra which i think it is. the only thing you can do id take the alt off to give you some extra room. and then lay across the engine. im a pretty big guy and this is how i had to maybe if your smaller you could fit without the alt.

I just went to take a look at it a little while ago, and, I believe I can get to the back 3 plugs with out having to remove anything, so, we'll see how it goes when I decide to do it.

If its like the w body, you should be able to get at the back 3 no problem. I done mine wity my stb still on. It was a bit of a squeeze, but it wasn't bad.

Yeah, I don't have the "dog bone" motor mounts in front, and, I was able to fit my hand behind where the back plugs are, so, we'll see how it goes when I finally decide to do it...
