Whether or not its the fuel pump I'm sure these guys haven't given it a fuel pressure test. Just a hunch since theyve just vehemently denied it was something wrong with the evap system

If he took out the ignition coil and cranked your car, he may have gasoline-flooded your engine. This disgusting shop wouldn't happen to be a CarX, would it?

Went back to the scumbag. He changed the starter and the crankshaft position sensor as well as the oxygen senosr (so he claims, but he didnt hand me the old ones back), the light is still on. I chewed him out (He wouldn't give me teh chance to say it might be the crankshaft sensor on saturday, and the starter change was unnecessary), but his english speaking ability totally vanished until I had to pay 502 dollars. Never the hell again. Thanks for the help though. Now the car has a weird hesitation when I'm going 25/30 mph. Since the light is still on, I will look it up (I suspect theres still a problem with the Evap system). Again, thanks for the help.

You're welcome, and I'm so sorry about how this worked out, but now it'* time for you to get in gear and have your car actually fixed! I don't know how much more money than $502 you're willing to spend, but it looks like you're back where you started. Do you have around $50 or so?
Huge list of universal catalytic converters on eBay

The thing is, you don't need a rear O2 sensor. If yours is dead, don't worry about it. However, I am pretty sure your cat is dead. You need to have your car scanned for free at an auto parts store and see if your rear O2 sensor is reading properly. If not, please buy a cat and replace yours. Don't worry about the sensor because whether or not it senses properly, the PCM doesn't run the engine any differently (harshly opposed to what happens with a bad front O2 sensor).

Good luck!

Aren't cats just used for emissions? I think I'll ride it out until next year. I still have to find out why the car is hesitating.

Yeah, the guy was sorta fed up with me because he wouldn't move my car out of the bay at the end and I was shouting to him to go and do it. I am not usually a brat, but I had to be in this case, I wanted to get my 500 dollars worth dh2

Nope, since your car was just shooting gasoline out the exhaust from running really, really rich, it should have a clogged cat. Exhaust has to flow through the cat and has no way around it. I have had two cars now, a 97 Sable and an 01 Alero with clogged cats from running rich. They hesitated and drove like poop until I put on new parts.

And please sue the shop.

I would definitely file a complaint with the better business bureau. They will have to answer the complaint. And it don't look good for them even if they answer. Something tells me there are already complaints. More the better.
