retrofit projectors
 

has anyone ever mounted one were the lens of the projector is external? would weather affect it? the back of the projector will be sealed, only from the shrouds up are open to weather conditions, i want to use these retrofits from this thread

my impala has exposed projectors for fogs. they get beat up seemingly more so that the headlights. my glass domes of the fogs are pitted and scratch pretty good for only being on the car for 4 years

are they specifically for fogs? what kind are yours? i want to get the mini d2s bi xenons

mine are stock fogs from GM found on an array of different GM vehicles. but as far as i know all projectors that are worth anything have a glass lens on them for the bubble.

i believe they are glass, and i can just h4 bulbs for the conversion right? they are 4x6 headlights on a 96 s10

looks like they take the D2S bulbs. those are standard HID bulbs from numerous higher tier cars such as Cadillac, Volvo, Saab, and so on. you will need different plug adapters for these to work on your S10

do you think replacing a fog light bulb with a headlight bulb in a difference in brightness?

it would depend on the cut of the refractor that the fog lamp bulb is going into. that is what really determines how good the light output is. also the wattage of the fog lamp bulb in question is the same as a normal low beam headlight. what are you going to do for high beams?
