Default 04 Venture power window

Weather nice today in Florida so I put the windows down on my 04 Venture van and when I tried to put the passenger window back up, nothing, it won't budge. Anyone have any ideas. We recently had a lot of rain, could moisture have gotten on something? The drivers window works fine.

Well, your power and ground "source" is ok, because the driver'* window has the same.....

But the question is, is that power and ground getting to the motor.....

all things being equal, obviously you had power and ground when you commanded the window down.....

One simple thing to try, is take the palm of your hand and give the center of the panel a good whack, and then try to get it to go up.....if it doesn't, then, there are any number of things that could be the problem.....

cold be a bad motor.....could be a bad passenger switch....could be a bad master switch...could be a bad wire/connection to the pass switch(three wires), or could be a bad wire out of the switch to the motor....

I'm assuming it won't go up from either switch......

From experience, my first thought is a broken wire in the "A" pillar pass through, second would be master switch, third would be the motor(if there were no previous intermittent problems)......

The best way to test this, is to remove the passenger switch from the door.....there are five wires.....now get a test light, and attach it to a good ground......

With the key in the run position(car does not have to be running), probe the yellow wire into the switch....should light(if it doesn't double check your good ground), however this is not necessary to make the window go up from the master switch....but it will verify your test light has a good ground...

Next probe the dark blue wire at the switch....when you press the master up and then the pass switch up, it should light each time.....If it doesn't light, probe the light blue wire, and press the master up...if it doesn't light, open wire or bad master switch....if it does, bad pass switch....

Next probe the brown wire at the switch....when you press the master switch down or the pass switch down, it should light.....if it doesn't probe the tan wire and press the master down...if it doesn't light, bad wire or master ...if it does, bad pass switch....

Now, if you have a test light with an alligator clip on the end, you will need a jumper wire and attach it to the alligator clip....you are now going to probe the brown and dark blue wires.....press the master and then the pass switches down.......if should light with each press.....then press each up button on both switches one at a time.....again it should light.....if it lights in both directions, bad motor(did you give door panel a good whack?)....If it lights in one direction, and not in the other, bad master switch....

Tech II did an awesome write-up, thanks for taking the time to break down the troubleshooting of a GM window switch/ window regulator.

One course of action you may consider that since you have power to the driver window and the motor/ regulator assembly is very high failure part- just buy a regulator/ motor assembly and replace it. My gut tells me you will solve the problem and solve it quickly. Taking the door apart to troubleshoot and then have to order the part is time consuming, buying the part locally can add 40% to the cost.

RockAuto has the motor/ regulator for $65, this is before the discount is applied; you will also have to ad the cost of shipping.

Rockauto part data:
TYC Part # 660379 {#16629470} Complete Assembly

Thanks to both of you. When I opened the drivers door this morning and tried it, it went right up. I think its the power wire running thru the boot on the door. I am not going to mess with it until next week now that'* its up
