Exclamation 93 silverado starter issue

Hey guys..I replaced the starter and battery cable on my ladys truck. Its a 93 2wd silverado 4.3 v6..well now pretty much every time she goes somewhere and it runs for a while and shuts it off then tries to start it again it just goes click..after a while it will start..This instance right now shes at her dads..he saying the starter is real hot..So what ive come up with is this starter gets hot after the engine running and then doesnt want to work while warm.So just confirming my suspicions that its junk..Keep in mind this is a used one off the shelf at my shop..Of this is the case i have two more that i can put on it..Just wanted to see what yall think..Weirdly i have never messed with starters much lol

Sounds like it might be something in the starter. I'd say you should just try a different one to see if there'* any difference or not. I'm not sure how hard it is to get at the starter on those trucks, but if you have a spare or two, its worth a try. If they act up the same way, then you know you might have a bigger problem

stop being a cheapo, she deserves a new one.

if it ends up not being the starter ive seen where the ground from the engine to the frame was getting corroded and heat and corrosion add resistance and cause the issues your talking about.

Double check all your connections. A loose or bad connection can cause this.
