Default '02 Impala ABS/Traction Problem

My wife'* car at random points while driving, the ABS/Traction control will activate. Dry surfaces, no snow or ice or rain (we live in Hawaii). The first time it happened, had the code scanned, Front Left Speed Sensor erratic signal. If the system malfunctioned too much, the ABS light and TRAC OFF come on and illuminate and something in the message center comes on.

Replaced both front bearings with speed sensors, problem went away.

Two months later (now) It'* happening again. Same problems, but with two new bearings. Same error code, same lights. I'm guessing its time to start hunting the wires.

On a side note, maybe unrelated, but the car has also had a few instances of randomly being unable to start. It will run just fine, but then the next turn of the key, no start. Click click click, no start. wait 30 mins, and it turns over. Battery got charged, seems to be fine now.

I'm just hoping that maybe it'* not the computer.

sounds like the pos. and ground cables need cleaned. as far as the abs i would guess you are right on having a wire/connector issue

The wires from the wheel speed sensor are easy to trace. They go direct from the connector at the wheel speed sensor to the connector at the EBCM. You can run a continuity check on each wire.
