Post 09 cobalt lt 2.2 with a m62 off a 3.8 (Idea)

ok when i was at work last night i was thinking about my cars and i remember i had a supercharger from my 93 ssei witch im building, so im like why not supercharge my cobalt lol. jjust so eveyone knows im just thinking about with one and im posting on here to get peoples opions. heres a few pics of it just sitting on the intake the hood actual to my suprise almost closed just need to be down a inch and a half






i will have to get the lsj radator hose, i need to make a custom intake, custom throttle body adapter, and little thiner pull also a heat exchanger

If you're going to go through all that trouble, why not just use an M90? Less heat, more airflow. The M62 really is just a big heat factory.

ya its is a big heat problem i was thinking cheap wise but iwas thinking about the m90 also how much do you think u can get one of them for? i was going to use the lsj manifold and mod it so the m62 would fit cuz i still want it intercooled but i could still make a custom one i could probly sell

I know some guys let them go for 125ish..the m90

thats not to bad i was thinking sence i already have a m62 just fab up a intake and use that for a while

me and my buddy back in the day put an M62 on a saturn DOHC 5 speed..fun lil car while it lasted..

only made it 23K miles with the blower before it blew the rings and sploded a piston

maybe we shoulda ran a bigger pulley tan the 2.2 LOL

That doesnt seem to be to bad of a desighn..There is somebody who makes an adapter to run an m90 on anything not sure if one is avail for the m62 yet

The 92-93 M62 was quite inefficent and didn't have coated rotors. In 94-95 the rotors gained coating and became more efficient, however the design of that generation M62 was still inefficent in comparison to the more recent M62 used on the Cobalt SS when it was supercharged (before the turbo version).

I'd maybe try and find a newer gen off a cobalt and use that. Maybe you can find the maifold as well.
