95 chevy impala rear view temp. sensor

Default 95 chevy impala rear view temp. sensor

tring to locate temp sensor for my 1995 chevy impala. compass works and dimming does as well , but temp reads "oc" or "sc" . does anybody know what those letters meanm or stand for thanks for any help.

I think you are referring to the ambient air temperature sensor which is on the support for the hood latch. I think the problem is in the readout and not the sensor.

I've not encountered those readings before. They may be for an open or short similar to a OL reading on a multimeter but that'* a guess. I would suggest making sure the connector is good and solid at the sensor.

the read out will occasionally read out a temp and sometimes it will read out word"ice" . u still believe it to be mirror it self

I would check the wiring. Unplug the sensor and see what it reads and then short it and see. These temp sensors will read -40*F when open and something around 240 shorted.

"OC" means open circuit. Usually this is when the sensor has gone bed but sometimes it'* a wiring issue. Every "OC" I've run across was fixed by replacing the sensor which is usually out in front of the radiator somewhere.
