95 chevy impala rear view temp. sensor
 
tring to locate temp sensor for my 1995 chevy impala. compass works and dimming does as well , but temp reads "oc" or "sc" . does anybody know what those letters meanm or stand for thanks for any help.

I think you are referring to the ambient air temperature sensor which is on the support for the hood latch. I think the problem is in the readout and not the sensor.

I've not encountered those readings before. They may be for an open or short similar to a OL reading on a multimeter but that's a guess. I would suggest making sure the connector is good and solid at the sensor.

the read out will occasionally read out a temp and sometimes it will read out word"ice" . u still believe it to be mirror it self

I would check the wiring. Unplug the sensor and see what it reads and then short it and see. These temp sensors will read -40*F when open and something around 240 shorted.

"OC" means open circuit. Usually this is when the sensor has gone bed but sometimes it's a wiring issue. Every "OC" I've run across was fixed by replacing the sensor which is usually out in front of the radiator somewhere.
