2006 Chevy impala no pressure on raditor hoses..??
Boy, what a day I had. Roads were real slippery today in Texas and I skidded and lost control. Next thing you know, I'm in a ditch full of grass, dirt and rocks. I'm still amazed at how little damage the car sustained. Two tires busted and my exhust system was clogged with dirt and grass (cleaned it out) Now I have a problem with my radiator hoses and it'* stumped me. No over heating, temp stays in the middle, fans kick on, etc...Only issue is that the hoses are not pressurized. The upper hose is hot but the lower one is cold. water pump works as I am getting heat, AC compressor works, everything is functioning but I'm just afraid that when I hit the highway it overheats! Are these cars normally like this...?? I have 3.9L IP edition

Are you loosening coolant ?
Radiator cap weak could cause it or a loose hose clamp.
Side of radiator could be seeping were the tanks are crimped to the core.
Go to auto zone and rent the radiator pressure tester its free when you take it back

Nope, bone dry. Not losing any coolant. Headed to Autozone today and they have a pressure tester tool for rent but the one they have doesn't fit my radiator. This is very perplexing!

I did hit the ditch pretty hard as I hydroplaned. I went in sideways and there were some pretty large rocks and slid right into them. Pretty tough car GM made lol. Can you give me a run down of what causes radiator hoses to hold no pressure?

Pressurization test as mentioned required.
If any leak, air enters system, both cause pressurization problems.
If the car is so equipped, you can try to bleed air out with bleed screw,& see if that helps.
In AM rad full? Overflow bottle after it sat overnight, still at cold line?

Pressurization test as mentioned required.

In the morning the reservoir is at the full line and no leaks to be found and everything is dry underneath. It'* not giving me any issues so I might just leave it as-is.

I will tell you my REGAL acted the same never in 30 years seen anything like it.
After installing new hoses and a radiator lower intake gaskets and a new lower intake radiator cap still no pressure on hoses.
So what'* left ?
Was not loosing coolant during this time.
So I caped off the heater core and then it pressurized.
The core has O RINGS before it goes in the core at the end of the tube so the inlet tubes can move some.
I guess they were leaking pressure but not coolant heater case was total dry.
I have no way to explain this
O and with a pressure tester it was holding steady for over a hour.
Like yours never did run hot

Well, I changed my radiator cap and still no pressure. Also changed the thermostat to make sure and issue still persists!

You should presser test it first before your buying parts you might not need.
Could be loose hose clamp or side of radiator or even the coolant tank.
IF the plastic tank has a pin hole in the side above the coolant level it could keep it
from pressurizing but you might never loose coolant.
