Default Airbag issue with 2003 Impala

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and I am having some issues with my airbag. The SRS light stays illuminated almost all the time. When it is below 50 degrees when I hit a bump the light goes out, then hit another bump it comes back on, and so and so forth. Above 50 degrees the light will stay illuminated all the time. Last year I had an Auto Electric company look at it and they replaced the clock spring to the tune of 1000 bucks. I have found online that there is a recall on my airbag. Two things, I have had an accident in this car, and two I am the third owner. The recall started in 2002, and I was wondering can I still have Chevy look at this, and also if I can't, where can I look to get this fixed. I am coming up on my inspection and it will not pass with this issue. Any help is much appreciated and I look forward to the comments and suggestions.

Justin
