Default Help transmission fluid help

Hi, I need your help guys, the history is this one my dad took my impala ls 2000 for a change of transmission oil, but he bought and added dexron ii instead of vi or iii.

What should I do?

I haven't ever seen dexron ii sold anywhere. From what I read on Wikipedia. I would recommend draining the fluid or having it flush and dexron vi installed. Dex ii gm stopped using because of the problems with it.

The only way to drain it is to drop the pan.

Dropping the pan is not going to get rid of it all......you need a flush.....

Question is, are you SURE he bought DEX2 instead of something else? If something is EOL(end of life) you won't find it in stores. And DEX 2 ended in 1992ish. DEX3 began in 1993. If its a typo on your part and he indeed did use DEX 3, he will be fine.

hey bro.

well it does say Dexron II, looks like its still being made here.

is being made by a local company PDV, they also make dexron III and VI.

i just asked my dad,and looks like he has always been using that on our impala ls 2000.

im shocked.
