i take care of my moms 03 imp, and all that has been done is normal maintenance. the trans was flushed around 75k, its got 104k now i just put the first set of plugs and wires and changed the fuel filter for the second time. the only thing weird was, must have been a factory defect in the rear spring was broke. i had a 03 monte that has the same engine and trans drove it 170k with the same maintenance before i traded it on my 07 with no issues.

Yes my impala having lots of problems too.Its a 2005,Transmission shifts hard sometimes, climate control bulbs burnt out. gas gauge not working right.2 water pumps ,fuel pressure regulator replaced, water noise in dash, tried to drain,no water in it.Gauges can be fixed pretty easily, buy stepper motors and replace yourself or plenty of places will repair entire cluster for$125.Very dissappointed in this car.I feel these things should last at least 100,000 miles!!!!!!

I'm currently going through the same problem the rest of the impala owners are going through or have had already with the 4T65E transmission. My wife was coming home from work this passed week when i get a call and she tells me the car hardly moves. I rushed down to see what was going on, i took some trans fluid with me thinking it just might be a little low on fluid but when i checked it the level was fine, i did notice the fluid was dirty, so here i go now hoping its only service that it needs but after reading tons of treads im thinking i'm just going to go ahead and replace the pcs plus i did pull a code P1811 and so far i've read that when this code pops up its usually just service needed, i'm crossing my fingers for a positive turn out
P.*. sorry about the long story

If you change the trans fluid (not sure that is the root of your problems), you may want to update your fluid to DEXRON VI. Much improved over the DEXRON III. Wal-mart sells DEXRPN VI at a much lower price than the big auto part stores.
