Exclamation Few problems with my "new" truck

I just picked up a '95 stepside K1500 yesterday and it drove great all the way home but tonight when I went to get something out of the glovebox I noticed some of the interior lights won't turn off so I decided to try to start it up and shut it off again to attempt to reset it. Then the big problem came when I put the key in and turned it one click forward the starter ran away and I quickly put the key back to off and pulled it out but it kept cranking! Put the key back in and cycled it till it stopped. Went under the hood to unplug the battery terminal so the interior light issue wouldn't kill the battery overnight. I noticed the hood light thing was clicking loudly and blinked alot, I unplugged the battery and it stopped. Any advice guys? This is my first GM btw.

those hood light things never work. and by the sounds of your fiddling with the ign switch to make it stop cranking its likely the switch. the interior lights are likely one of the switches in the door could be sticking put some wd40 on it and work it with your finger. if that doesnt help they are ground control so if the wire is chafed and touching ground anywhere it will turn itself on
