Tires for Cadillac STS 2006

Hello everyone, I have a Cadillac STS 2006 1SC (luxury performance package) with 235/50R18 front and 255/45R18 rear. I've read of some owners putting 235 all around and getting rid of the 255 and they said now they have a quieter ride, more comfortable and can rotate their tires which means longer life for them.

I am going to buy Continental ExtremeContact DWS for my car but most places have 235/50R18 soldout, but I think I might of found 1 place that has them still. Is there anything I need to worry about if I decide to go 235/50R18 all around and avoid the more expensive 255/45R18 tires in the rear?

also what other size is recommended if I can't get the 235/50R18 all around? I want to keep my 18" OEM rims also.

Thanks

235's will be fine all around. It won't make a difference. The different tire sizes were only made that way in order to increase traction on the drive wheels. As for road noise, that will depend more on the tire itself than on the width of the tire. We put a set of Hankook 255/60/17's on my mom's Saturn Vue from 235/60/17's stock and they are much quieter and more comfortable.

Thank you so much.
I am going to go with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS I was just wondering if I can go with 235 all around, since the rear is 255/45 will my rim fit without any issue ?
