Default RIM on '01 Deville question

I'm working on an '01 Deville and discovered the trunk doesn't open with remote or IP button, and the Fuel Door does not open..... It'* pointing toward a problem with the RIM..... BUT the back up lights do not work as well..... are they controlled by the RIM too??

They stopped using the RIMs because the wires would break when the wheels rotated....

Happy Mother'* Day......

Yes the RIM grounds the backup lights relay.....and yes, the RIM also controls the fuel door and trunk relays....

But just like any other module, you have to make sure you have power and ground to it, and that there is no problem with the serial data lines in and out of it, before condemning the module....
