Default No reverse and high rev when in drive

I have a 2016 Cadillac SRX AWD 3.6L Luxury Edition.

The other day I drove it 1 hour to a nearby town, did some errands and then drive back home. No issues. Had a sweet tooth 2 hours later and went to store for ice cream. I backed out fine, but then when it went in drive it wouldnt go at first. Gave it some gas and it shifted, but then every shift after was hard. It wouldnt shift past 4 on a 6 speed and the revs where high. 4000 plus and would go over 35 really. Drive around the block and parked it. Checked the fluid, all good. Went to back out and then it wouldnt go in reverse. Still that way. It doesn't feel like it engages.

Any all thoughts appreciated
Lance

Does the gear selection show properly? No trouble lights on?

Yes, everything lights up on the gear selection. You can feel it go into drive, you that little nudge, but nothing in reverse. No nudge. I can give it gas but it just rolls forward.

When it first happened, there was a check engine light. I disconnected the battery hoping it was a glitch and reset the car. Transmission acting the same but no engine light now. Maybe because I cant drive it.

They only scan the PCM and we need to see what is going on in the other modules. TCM for sure.

If you do your own work you can get a code reader that will read other modules for under $50 or better yet a scan tool that shows live data for under $150.
