Voltage range on 1997 SLS
My voltage seems to drop significantly from 14.4 when cold and in te day to 12.0 at operating tempature and with the full load of everything on in Hi position. I put a new Die Hard Gold battery in it after having the old one light up my dash all at once then go dead as adoor nail in second to never work again. Also on 2 occasions after installing the new battery the No Battery Charge light came on after starting but when I immediately shut it off and restarted it went off and ran in the voltage above. Engine Trans and everything else is as normal as ever. Help?

I would look for bad cables.
Engine running the dash reads alternator output, shut the motor down & it reads battery output.
At cold start up 14.0 is normal and should settle maintain 13 to 13.5 while driving. Get the battery load tested, just cause its new doesn't mean its good.
Bad cables can cause this discrepancy not allowing full charging current to make it to the battery. This car needs a tip top charging system to power all the controls.

Start with checking cables and making sure teh ground is good, but I would take the alternator into Autozone (or someplace like that) and have it tested. Running at 12 volts is a good sign the alternator is shot.
