Momentary loss of power after high G turn, but engine does not die. Autocross practic
Practicing for upcoming autocross by driving aggressively; taking some 90 degree turns at 30+ MPH and also braking hard before other sharp turns. My 2002 Eldorado ESC looses power after apex of turn (like a hesitation) for a second or two before recovering. It does not noticeably miss, or stutter, and the engine does not die. Is this a loss of fuel pressure or transmission fluid pressure or what? Upcoming autoX race on December 8th and I need to get it fixed before then.

Is the fuel tank full or near empty?
|
this morning it was between 1/4 and 1/2
|
sounds like its uncovering the pickup, you could try filling the tank or putting fuel pressure gauge on it and taping it to the windshield so you can see it

Does this car have traction control and ABS? If so can u turn it off and try again>??
|
good idea, didnt think about the stability control, or traction control
|
Hmmm.... it would make sense that an algorithm programmed for safe driving might limit a torque application to the front wheels at that moment in order to reserve all available traction for the turn, thus preventing an induced power slide.
I will look for the fuse and try it again. Thanks. |
mine has a button you just push
