2003 Cadillac STS Need some advice

Hello fellow Cadillac owners,

For the past 3 days the trunk lid and the fuel door has been just popping open at random when ever it seems to want to. I replaced the relay in the fuse box #50 And it still is doing it. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?

Regards,
Aaron

take the relay out and see if it still does it. if not it seems likely a intermittent short on the control line

Hi Justin

Hello Justin,

I pulled the relay out last night and the fuel door did stop opening by it's self but the trunk did still open by it's self.

I read online that maybe the batteries in the key fobs may be low and causing it?

this is from 03 seville, they dont list a sts. the two relays are controlled by the rim or rear integration module. i dont know where it is but if you unplug it, and it stops something is either causing the things to activate, or the module is bad. if it doesnt the wires from the relay to the rim are intermittently shorting.

if you leave the fobs home that should be able to verify that. doesnt seem likely
