'01 Deville, no unlock, fuel door, trunk or back up lights
I am working on a 2001 Deville (4.6) the doors will not unlock (by the buttons on the door or remote), the fuel door will not pop open, the back up lights will not come on etc. With my GM Tech 2 tool I can activate the door locks....BUT when I try to get into anything that the Rear Integration Module controls I get a screen that states "Loss of Communication" and RIM not connected. Would this be a dead RIM?
|
I can't think of why it works from the Tech 2, but those are all RIM functions. Any other errors on the Class 2 bus?
|
Are the front door lock actuators working normally? They would not be from the RIM, but the DDR and PDM, IIRC the schematic correctly.
Does the DeVille use a single rear door module under the seat (like a P.A.) or a module in each door like a LeSabre? I'm not entirely sure this is even consistent over the run of the G/H bodies. Just wondering if a rear door module might be loading the bus down. |
You have a Tech II and there are no "U" codes set?

Follow UP
None of the door locks work, the fuel door does not work, the trunk does not pop, the back up lights do not work. I tried to access the RIM with my Tech 2 and it will not connect, nor will it test. I get a screen telling me that the communication to the RIM has been lost.

The Tech 2 showed me it was the RIM..... replaced that, and it is now working fine.

Thanks for letting us know. Glad you got it fixed.
