Can you adapt a 1992 4t60 transmission into a 1996 car?
I have a 1992 Park Avenue Ultra with a good transmission. And I found a great deal on a 1996 park avenue ultra with a bad tranny (also 4T60-HD). I want to put the 1992'* transmission into the 1996. Does anyone have any expierence in doing this. ANY information is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

You will need the wiring diagram for the 2 transmissions... The pinouts are diffrent as the connector may have a diffrence but I'm not sure on that one...
The 96'* Trans uses a tranny fluid temp sensor, the 92'* uses a Temp switch as the 92 PCM did not monitor the trans fluid temp... You will need to know if you can adapt the sensor from the 96 trans to the 92 trans... Also I wonder if there is a stall speed diffrence betwenn the transmissions as one had the series I engine and the other a series II ....
Just some thoughts for you...
