Question Park Avenue Front Seat Swap 2004 into 2001

How can I determine if the front seats from a 2004 Park Avenue Ultra will fit my 2001 Park Avenue (not the Ultra Model). My driver seat has no support, will not raise/lower and heated seat doesn't work. I have found a front seat from a 2004 PA Ultra same color and just wondered if anyone has experience in this upgrade? Thanks.

should be a direct swap. these cars didnt change at all from 97-05 apart from the seat padding. my car is a non heated model and i have the harness for it already in the dash and under the seat. go figure. only thing you need to worry about is the seatbelts. some newer models have them mounted in the b pillar. in which case you would need to take that out of the donor car as well.

Sounds to me like it will be a piece of cake! All seats for a PA should be intechageable. I was not satisfied with the suport of the seats in my 98PA. I put seats from a caddy DTS in mine. It took some custom fabrication but they fit fine and they are very comfortable.

I would like to see the photos of those seats in the park ave!
I assume they are leather from the DTS.
Were the wire connectors same from DTS? Bolts line up correct?

Here are a couple pictures of the seats installed. The memory seat feature is completely different so that feature is lost in the swap. The DTS seats are heated and cooled with a little heater and a fan that moves heated air in the winter and ambient air in the summer, that would not work with the control on the PA dash that controls the heating element in the seats. Niether the heated seats or the memory seats were features that I used anyway. I found the Buick seats to lack support, the DTS seats are very comfortable. I did this 2 or 3 years ago and am very glad that I did.

The caddy seats are bolted in the front. The PA seats have a hook feature in the front . You just tip the seat forward and the hook engages then you lower the seat into position. As I recall I simply cut the mounting bracket off the caddy seats and welded a hook onto them. I could have cut the hook off the PA seats but I wanted to leave them in tack incase I wanted to re-use them. I think I used a piece of 1" x 1" x 3/16" angle. All the controls are built into the seat so the only wiring required is to splice the power wire from the old wiring harness to the seats. The seat belts are completely self contained just like the PA. The main difference is that the PA seats are 60/40 and the DTS seats are basically two bucket seats with a center console. You have to fabricate brackets to weld to the hump to secure the center console. It'* not real complicated but it was time consuming. I think I had the seats in and out of the car about a dozen times while I was making adjustments.

Here are some pics of the work. I marked all the wires and crimped them together so if I want to, I can switch the wires back and install the original seats. I added a little foam at the duct to get a good seal because the two seats were a little different in design.
