Well guys that new Park Avenue Ultra i picked up for $500 with a meager 112k crapped out on me. I have been fighting a intermittant higher rpm stutter since I got it. Well I was driving thru town Sat night. Had put maybe 40 miles on her that day from running around, visiting my mom about 15 miles each way and I was driving when it started to stutter at around 40 mph. So i gave her some more throttle and it shut clean off. Pulled over and it barely wanted to crank over. Got it started again and my oil light came on. Registered in at zero pressure, Quickly shut it down and checked oil level, Full to the top of the hash marks of fresh (1 week old) oil. Weird maybe my pressure sensor crapped out (not the first time ive dealt with that) well no it really has no pressure, It started scraping and knocking by the time i drove it the mile home. I let it sit overnight and started it again and boy is she pissed, just knocking away even though it now says i have 50 psi of pressure (cold about 40 degrees outside). Looks like its coming out once i get my brothers 92 SSE bonneville done, it did the exact same thing last week. JUST MY LUCK. His just all of a sudden lost pressure and started knocking as well. Got him a new replacement junkyard motor for $200 though. Now should I pull mine and have a shop turn the crank, oversized bearings, etc etc. OR i found a 93 Bonneville supercharged engine but its 2 hour drive each way and $500. with unknown miles. Can i just swap a 94-95 engine and ecu into it and make it happy again?? Im open to any suggestions. I plan on pulling the engine within a week or so. Thanks Taylor.

that sucks! u kinda scared me a little, i hope mine wont crap out on me out of blue. I am already dealing w/bunch of f up weird problems(u can check my posts) maybe u could help me w/advise lol. My Regal shuts of when i i turn turn signals on. lol im going to be doing lots of checking and tracing tomm about that but im open to suggestions. as for your problem, dont know what to suggest in regards of getting another or actually rebuilding urs as u said. i can tell u one thing, when i swapped 99 engine into 97 regal i used 99 computer w/it and it would not start. i then realised after brainstorming that 99 comp will only start w/99 key and ignition module that reads its potentiometer or whatever its called. So by u droping in another engine w/another compu, u might end up having similar issue. I end up putting 97 orig comp to controll 99 motor cause its identical engine, so if u do get something, get some identical in terms of ECU management of it. im saying if its superch then get superch if it had two map sensors on back get one w/two cause i think otherwise u might have some ECU missunderstandings.but ofcourse in end its all about $$$ and if u have them laying around anything could be done even if things dont match up. lol

I believe the 94/95 should work, you would just need to swap sensors, supercharger, etc over.

The 94 is exactly the same engine with a different computer, and the 95 is the same too, but it has lightened internals. Lets it rev up better.

Ok good info to have. Makes me want to get a 95 block Will a 95 computer hook into my 93 car then be able to run the 95 supercharger?

I think the 95 and below */C'd engines are vacuum actuated.(meaning the PCM does not control it via a boost bypass valve)

And, if I remember right, the 95 */C'd engines are still Series 1'*, the Series 2 */C'd engine came out in 1996.

But as far as the 95 PCM working in a 93 body? I'm not sure.

The 95 bits would require wiring. It is possible, but I don't know the specifics. If you are in the mood for rewiring, you may want to look in to a series 2 conversion. If you find you a good donor car, you can do it easy enough.

If it was me, and I had the space in the shed to do it, I would tear into it take a look-see depending on what it costs to rebuild one these days. I guess it would depend on the damage and what would it would cost to repair; such as turning the crank and oversize bearings, etc.

I just rebuilt an 01 ssei engine. The most expensive is the gaskets. All in all, it cost me $700 to rebuild mine. I got new oil and water pumps, rings and 2 reconed rods, crank kit and gaskets for that price. Mine didn't need any machining work. That'* how i got off so cheap. Good luck!

Ok Im hoping to pull the engine today/tonight and have a look see inside. I found a shortblock at my local upullit but i have to go unhook it from trans and get it out. We will have to see what happens. Thanks for the input!
