After having a passenger for 500 miles, this is what happened...Darn cheap plastics on this car!
I guess the weight of passenger compressed the foam, and it had pop a part a phobia?
Appears to be coming apart at the seam LOL...

Ok did something break or is there a secret to re-install this thing properly?

Mike 04-17-2014 04:44 PM

I think they just pop back in there. Unless the tabs are broken.

Soft Ride 04-17-2014 04:46 PM

I tried pushing it in numerous times, but when it stops raining, I will have to get a better look Mike..
If the tabs are broken maybe drill a hole and some ole fishing line through the seat to tie it back up is in order LOL...

The plastic tabs have metal clips on them to secure it to the seats...... have used "stylish" screws to secure the escutcheon....

Mike 04-17-2014 05:05 PM

'Stylish" screws? I gotta see a pic of these things.

Tech II 04-17-2014 10:06 PM

Ha-ha, Mike......whatever I have handy...then I go into the Parts Dept, and get some touch-up paint close to the color of the plate, and paint the heads......

Looks like I will be attempting one single drill hole & screw install.
There is a small amount of solid wood just above the white electrical connector area to hit.

You gotta do what ya gotta do.

Hope you hit the wood, and not the electrical connector!

You guys are funny!!
I made it so by engaging the drill today.
I drilled it from back of panel forwards to ensure I did not hit electrical connectors.

welcome to the club, art!, of both my park avenues and my dads, not one has an in tact side plastic. all 6 of them busted off! im no tank at 180 lbs either...... damn engineers!

in the old car, i used grey zip ties, but that didnt look very nice. in the new car i plan on buying some sheet metal screws with allen heads if i can find some.ill probably do a little border of 3 on top 3 on bottom and 2 at the front and back so it looks (almost) factory.

also- look out removing the b pillar covers. they use flimsy 1/8" thick tabs about 2 inches long. and only 3 of them. seems like i break the tabs every time i take one off. ive had to replace them about 50% of the times ive had them off.

Tech II 04-21-2014 09:14 AM

Doesn't look as "stylish" as mine!:w3
