Default buick woes - Transmission Problems

being a loyal gm man , only own gm'* , and wrench on all my own stuff , am struggling with a 2002 buick regal ! thought joining a gm forum may enlighten me !

question : i took a tranny out of a 2000 bonneville , put it into my 2002 regal that wouldn't shift and fluid burnt . after swap the same problem exist ! the check engine light on , yet scan tool says no light and no codes ! was there any problems with the pcm'* in these cars ?

Not sure bout 00 Bonn but had 96 and it'* transm had vacuum solenoid on it, yet regals newer had one from97-04. If transm u put in regal have that vacuum solenoid then you'll have to connect it make it functional and I believe but not sure, re flash pcm

no vacum , all electrical plugs same

are you using a code reader capable of reading chassis codes, because only the more expensive ones that specifically say "gm chassis codes" will read abs,trans, etc

so what ur saying is the trans is setting engine light ? my scan tool only reads engine fault codes ?
