The P/A's and LeSabre's were known for a mushy ride......the Bonnevilles were a little stiffer...

My girlfriend had a '97 Bonneville and the ride was firmer, I really liked that one.

I put 15 gallons of water (in plastic jugs) in my trunk and drove it all day as I was shopping around town. I don't think I could tell any difference in the ride with or without. I did not practice emergency evasive driving techniques - so that's still an unknown.

That figures at 125lbs, which is more than enough for the system to come in to play. Likely the car sat lower until you started it, the air pump ran for a bit, the rear end picked up, and all was well. That is exactly how it is supposed to go.

The next move is up to you however. It might be best to go ahead and start a new thread so that we can hone in on what we feel the best solution might be for you. It may just be a case of new shocks, or maybe even a matter of raiding suspension pieces from something at the salvage yard.

I don't know.. I'm thinking there really is no problem. This is my first car with ELC and I just need to get used to it's normal operation and behavior. I'm just not used to that floating feeling it delivers at times - it's kind of fun.. like a roller coaster. :)

Truth be told, I think it's a product of fluffy Buick suspension, moreso than the air assist.

I might be doing the rear shocks sometime this summer once I pick up my tools from home. For now, I'm planning on replacing the troublesome fuel level sensor. I already ordered the new part but was not able to get the locking ring off of the fuel tank :mad:

There is a special tool to assist in removal of the ring.
