Longer oil filter

Anyone have any idea what other oil filters would fit my 3800?

The filter I use seems to cover a VERY broad range of cars (see below). I'd just like one that's a tad bit longer, and I'm sure there must be *something* out there that's compatible.

Any ideas?

ASUNA1993BUICK(1975 - 2009)
CADILLAC(1981 - 1998 )

GMC(1978 - 2010)
ISUZU(1989 - 2003)
JEEP(1980 - 1986)

I found one that might work. The standard GM part number is a PF47. Apparently the PF52 is longer. Can anyone confirm this?

A 52 is the same as a 47 and slightly longer. In a W body of your year, I'm unsure of clearances etc. On the 97+ W bodies, the clearance between oil filter adapter and frame is a little tight depending on the shape of the motor mount. I've found (97+) that the 52 is usually a little longer than my liking due to the clearance.

Nevermind, I figured it out. The PF52 is the longer version. It came on older 4.3L engines and early LQ1's. If you want to put one on your car, you can ask for an oil filter for a 1992 Chevy Lumina Z34 with the 3.4L DOHC engine.

Edit, just noticed your reply. Thanks for the info. The L27 has a lot of clearance for a longer filter.

Awesome find. I found out that my local O' Reilly boys know their stuff. I wanted a longer filter as well, but didn't know part numbers. So I told them what I had and said I wanted a longer version of what the computer pulls up. Turns out the guy just looked at the number that came up and said yeah no problem, and grabbed exactly what I wanted.
