L-67 in 1994 lesabre
Hey guys I'm new to this forum and would greatly appreciate your input!
So I bought a 1994 lesabre for $800 a couple months ago and ive been thinking about swapping the 3.8 for something more fun. Ive had a couple ideas:
1. A supercharged 3.8 from one of the newer cars
Or
2. A L-67 since its still a v6 but would be (I think) more fun
Now im pretty sure the newer 3.8 would be a pretty straight forward swap but the L-67 would be interesting . I need advice on to what all i would need for both swaps if you guys have any pointers. Thanks in advance!!

1994 buick lesabre engine swap
So i posted a thread earlier and realized i had pretty much talked about the same engine in 2 different ways and put the wring year for my car. I just wanted to know what engine/transmission combo would be compatible with my 1992 lesabre, and how simple the instal would be. Thanks in advance

Quote from later thread https://www.gmforum.com/buick-172/19...8/#post1627661 on the same issue:
To ease confusion, any updates to an existing issue should be in the same thread as opposed to starting a new one.

PCM would have to change, as well as some wiring. You'll have to add OBD2 oxygen sensors and wire the gauges up to work, but I believe it is the same gauge cluster. As for the engine itself, should bolt right in. Almost nothing changed between 1992 and 1996-1999. You'll want to get the 4T65E transaxle that comes with your L67 to handle the extra torque. The 4T60E in your 1992 is not up to it.
Regarding your engine choices. the Series 2 L67 is your best bet. There are still a lot out there. You can find them in most of the Supercharged versions of the medium, big, and bigger FWD cars from GM from 1996 to 2003, with the exception of the Regal GS and GP GTP that started the Series 2 L67 in 1997. The PA Ultra, Impala SS, and MC SS had them up until 2005. If you can bring the PCM with your engine/trans choice then all the better as no programming will be needed.
Many of these were used hard and all are getting old. If you're lucky, you'll get a good engine/transmission combo. If you can, it would be a good idea to get the transmission overhauled, especially if it looks original. Probably a good idea to change supercharger oil as well.
In case it is a concern: the L67 with its supercharger will fit under your hood.
Your best bet would be to get your hands on an L67-engined donor car of the same size (SSEI or LSS) that has a bad body/interior but runs well. Then you can pre-test your parts before moving them over.
